This project utilizes wood as a raw material to build a fully functional go-kart from scratch!
Skill: prototyping, mechanism, form design, ergonomic

Lightweight & High Strength
To make a kart run well, it needs to be fast enough first of all, and since the motor is fixed, then it needs to be made as light as possible, and at the same time, if it is going to support one's weight it needs to be cleverly designed with interspersed structures to ensure that enough structural strength is achieved with the least amount of material.

Using the ai drawings as a source of inspiration I finally decided on the model style and design details and presented them as sketches.
03
Final outcome

The overall frame is made of wood CNC interspersed, ensuring structural stability while maximizing the adoption of a lightweight design style. Some of the weighing parts such as the steering system I used steel welding technology.

More details of the design are shown here, and I did my best to scrutinize every corner of the car in the spirit of craftsmanship.

Kart Race
At the end of the program, we all came together for a go-kart race and sped around the track with the go-karts we built in 14 weeks. We won first place in the race through solid construction, as well as a lighter body, and excellent control skills!
